Short biography

Mario De Leo, born 16/11/1944 in Ruvo di Puglia (Bari – Italy), lives in Monza (MB) and works in Lissone at the Studio Perlarte.

In the seventies he alternated painting with music.
In the late eighties, he founded Studio H:Orarte with Max Marra.

Some of the artist’s works are permanently exhibited at Italian and overseas galleries such as the “Young Museum” in Revere (Mantua), the civic gallery of Ruffano (Lecce), Castello di Sartirana, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Taverna (Cosenza) and the Guang Dong Museum of Art in Canton, Cina.

In 2006 he’s chosen to celebrate the centenary of painter Domenico Cantatore by Comune di Ruvo di Puglia (BA – Italy) in a solo exhibition displaying his artworks from various periods.

In 2011 M.A.C. – Museo d’Arte Contemporanea di Lissone (MB – Italy) hosts his personal exhibition, organized by Claudio Rizzi and endorsed by Comune di Lissone, Regione Lombardia e Provincia di Monza e Brianza.

In 2018 Red Dot Miami’s director Rich Ferrante choose one of his artworks as one of the top ten of the edition.

In 2020, his artworks are presented at both exhibitions “Parliamo di Lei”, Casa Museo Spazio Tadini (Milan, Italy), organized by Melina Scalise, and “Biennale Light Art”, Casa del Mantegna (Mantua, Italy), organized by critic Vittorio Erlindo.
In 2021, he participates in “Florence Biennale – Art + Design”, organized by art critic Fortunato D’Amico.

In 2022 he exhibits both early and recent artworks at “Antropocene” (Sala Leonardiana, Vigevano – Milan, Italy), by Fortunato D’Amico.
